The Vision

Our vision of a better world is a vision of a united world.  Imagine a world where all the wide variety of peoples from all nations see themselves as members of a single family, and the whole earth as their home.

Each ethnic group, tribe, race, and creed is recognized for its value, and is encouraged to offer its unique gifts to the benefit of humanity, a unity in diversity.  A common, auxiliary language is taught in all schools so that every person on earth can communicate freely with every other person.  Every person sees the light of God in the face and heart of another, and there are no strangers.

Men and women reach a deeper appreciation of their virtues and innate excellence, and strive to support each others’ aspirations.  Women realize their full potential in all areas of life.  Marriages are founded upon love and mutual respect, familes are united, and children are raised in the knowledge that they are noble creatures from whom much is expected, and who can achieve unprecedented greatness.

Members of the world’s major religions have come to the understanding that there is only one God, the Creator of all, and the Source of all of their Scriptures and beliefs.  Prejudice and fanaticism have melted away as they have discovered the common root of their respective faiths, and realize that the apparent differences between them are due to the requirements of the time and place in which they originated.

There is no oppression or coercion among the nations or between individuals.  There is peace in the world and peace at home. At the beginning of each day, members of the community voluntarily come together in collective worship, and then carry out their daily tasks.  Work is performed as service to humanity, and in that light recognized as worship.

There is no economic injustice or need for war because we have learned to share the world’s resources.  The wealthy have overcome any inclination towards greed and have discovered the joy of generous and voluntary giving, and the poor have opportunities to work and earn a livelihood.

“Ye are the fruits of one tree, and the leaves of one branch. Deal ye one with another with the utmost love and harmony, with friendliness and fellowship. …  So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth.” – Bahá’u’lláh
